Glass Container Excellence

Türkiye-based GCA is leveraging 30 years of experience in glassware production to become a major force on a global scale in the glass container industry.

GCA is rapidly progressing towards becoming one of the top players in the international glass container industry by achieving significant success in Türkiye and abroad.

Located in the Kütahya First Organized Industrial Zone in western Türkiye, GCA facilities use the latest technology and fully automated systems at every stage from production to quality control and packaging. Its first glass-melting furnace was commissioned in 2015, followed by a second in 2021, with the third planned for the near future.

“We have almost doubled production capacity with our new factory commissioned in 2021,” says General Manager Dr Abdullah Gayret. “With the new furnace investment, the company is well on its way to becoming Türkiye’s second-largest glass container manufacturer.”

GCACommitted to responsible operation

With its R&D projects, GCA is set to propel Türkiye’s glass container industry forward and is committed to adding value to the national economy and its customers. “In addition to production automation, we are investing in digitisation to increase the value we add to our business partners,” affirms the General Manager adding that the digital transformation now covers both production and shipment.

“At GCA, we aim to make the shipment process smarter, faster and more efficient with the new digital shipment appointment system we have implemented. Thanks to this system, which is an innovation both in Türkiye and in the world, our business partners will be able to reduce the number of errors they may encounter during the shipment process and determine their own delivery times by making an appointment over our platform with the company that will provide the logistics.”

He further affirms that GCA is an environmentally and socially responsible company that supports education and training initiatives and pursues international recycling and sustainability efforts within various projects. “We always prioritize sustainability and respect for the environment and people in all production stages within the framework of our quality and safety standards.”

“Glass is an environmentally friendly material that can be recycled 100% indefinitely and we focus on making designs that can make beneficial contributions to the brands as well as the environment. For example, we carry out sustainable projects to make glass more lightweight while maintaining its mechanical strength.”

Award-winning performance

“We also contribute to studies that will increase the recycling of glass in Türkiye, and internally, we strive to reduce our operational footprint by diversifying our energy sources and increasing recycling rates, thus boosting the environmental credentials of our glass production.”

He further points out that glass is a special material that is very open to innovation and affirms that each design process is structured in line with the demands and needs of the company’s business partners. “In every project, we use our experience and design skills to ensure rapid progress towards the goals of our brands and business partners.”

GCA’s various glass bottle and jar designs have been granted many prestigious awards such as the Crescents and Stars of Packaging Gold Awards, Worldstar Winner, Design Türkiye, AsiaStar Packaging Award, and the Crescents and Stars of Packaging Competence Award.

“We were the Red Dot Design Award Winner and Silver A’ Design Award Winner with our Mai Dubai water bottle design in previous years. We have also been in the finals of the world-famous Pentawards 2023 design competition in the ‘Professional Concept’ category, with our design combining innovation and aesthetics,” he acknowledges.

“All these awards highlight our leadership and innovation ability in design and packaging, and we are determined to continue to achieve similar success in the future with our creative solutions.”

GCAExpanding the reach

The company continues to invest in line with its vision of becoming a brand that captures the digital trends in Türkiye and strives to increase its market share above the industry averages. “At GCA, we continue to grow and are always keeping ourselves up to date, in order to ensure that our processes remain at the highest level of technology in the world.”

“Our high-quality flint and extra-flint glass bottles and jars are sold to more than 40 countries worldwide, with exports today accounting for approximately 30% of our business. We have a strong position in Europe, Africa and the Middle East and continue to expand our reach – last year, we added Central America, South America, and Mexico to the markets we serve.” He reflects that the company plans to expand its premium spirits glass bottle projects targeted at export markets. This will also move the portfolio to a higher level, with a focus on high-quality luxury spirits glass bottles.

A customer-centric approach will remain key. “At GCA, we have been making a difference in the glass packaging industry with our value-added products since 2015. We strive to meet our customers’ needs as if they were our own, with digitisation further enhancing our efforts. We listen to our customers’ voices using modern methods and reflect their feedback into our business model. Within the framework of this vision – like every successful institution – we evolve, grow and renew.”

Packaging Glassified

In line with this philosophy, the company has launched a new brand logo and slogan that reflect its leadership and passion for innovation in the glass packaging industry. “While the bottle and jar icons in our new logo symbolize our production area and our wide offering, we emphasize that glass packaging is not only an aesthetic, but also an environmentally friendly, sustainable, original, and state-of-the-art solution.”

The new look resembles a torch, symbolising that the GCA brand is leading the glass transformation and lighting the way. “Our new logo, which reflects the innovative and technology-oriented identity of our company, combines the modern design approach and highlights our dynamism and forward-looking vision in the sector,” explains the General Manager.

“We crowned this innovative and contemporary transformation with our “Packaging Glassified” marketing campaign. At GCA, with our renewed identity, we will continue to push the boundaries of glass packaging and shape it with innovation, further strengthening our leading position in the industry.”
